I came back to my hometown before I could visit Surat — the land of cheese sabzi (sorry this comes to my mind before the diamond binnis). but whenever I travel, I will surely write about it :)
I know. Cheese gotala is a recent virus and OG food items are better. Gujarat food is good. Anything special in Surat which is not available in Amdavaad, Baroda and Junagarh?
You should try locho, rasawala khaman , aloopuri, khavsa and many more local street items when you visit. ( I'm the brand ambassador of surat when it comes to food btw😂)
the university is a vibe. and when I heard the audio guide cover that part, I looked around to see if I am the only one who found this dark. it was not something that I was expecting in an audio guide
Itni garmi hai na ki mai chourahe tk nahi jaa paa rahi hu filhaal 😂
Vaise wo palace toh sundar tha yr, maine pta nahi kya image bana k rakhi hai gujrat ki apne dimag me 😂 aur wo kachori sahi me boht buri thi? You should try Rajasthani kachori 😍
Ignore don't give a dam about this question.Just say you slay- you just make me read your articles when I don't feel like to read than I read than I feel if i didn't read I would never known the beauty of expressing into different graph of emotions to be played well through words, your game here is so just unbeatable Nazar na Lage 🧿,If the statement exist "Author is Authoring" then it would be you Mannn. You have written some beautiful realistic lines that poem was absolute beauty I will replay this poem whenever I get opportunity to get the seat beside the window. Also it would be so difficult to be a critic of your writing so I choose easy I will always be on appreciation kind of people,I think Gujarat really Blessed you.
that's really kind of you say such good things Priyee! thank you. you somehow one up the compliment each time. really glad you like my writing. Gujarat is not what I had initially thought and I tried to pen it down. Never thought I would end up receiving so much love on these essays :)
I love having so many accessible parks. If you were to be here in summer they'll almost never be empty except for the afternoon nap hours. They're packed with people of all age groups and I am littul sucker for community 🌟🌟
That's how good cities should be. Having a good time in city should be easy and cheap. Sayaji baug is perfect! Best park I've seen so far. Maybe the Olympic park in Munich is better but Sayaji Baug is so so so so so good
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LVP. The line where the Maharaja goes, "to most people this might be a huge palace, but for me and my family it has always just been our home" calls me broke and poor in so many ways 😭😭
What was so wrong with the kachori it is SOO SO GOOD. My friends and I literally have dreams of this kachori and it's is the IT thing here in Vadodara. 😭😭😭
I completely totally agree with Vadodara being a quiet place where almost nothing fast ever happens to the point that I have developed a habit of saying anytime someone zooms past me in traffic, I go "tum Vadodara mein rehte ho tumhe kya jaldi hai?" And that is true because it's not very huge. You can reach anywhere in a couple of minutes. There's almost never a LOT of traffic although recently that might have changed. And the people here are very peace loving. People really love their afternoon naps here (me included). You've done a great job describing and making this quiet sleepy place into some historical and thoughtful city lololol. I quite enjoyed reading this. Fari aavjo lololol
You all get to see benches and parks everywhere! I don't see mant cities having these. These are so important. And I can totally see people enjoying their afternoon nap. Happy to have gotten your approval on this :D
Travel blogs !! My best (only🥲) way to dive into different cities and enjoy them...loved it throughout....The poem in mid was cherry on the top...perfect ending....That rhyming under the picture of spice and nice ...made me giggle amidst enjoying the fun blog !!
And the cutest part was you mentioning video calling your wife 🫠
It feels so good bhai to see one of your favorite writers back!!
Your travel vlogs have honestly made me a huge fan of your writing. It is such a great collection of Humour, vast emotions, photographs and stories that leave an everlasting impact. I absolutely loved the hindi part at the end🫶🏻
And as for vadodra I hav visitied the place few times and I know the feeling of the paintings you saw, I could recall the sight of them from my childhood reading this, absolutely brilliant bhai!!
thank you for such kind words Ayush! the frequency of articles from now on will be a bit off but I really enjoyed travelling across Gujarat and I am happy people from the state enjoy these pieces too! I had been trying to complete the series as soon as possible because I wanted others to know that there is so much more to explore here than just the usual binniss jokes :)
I'm waiting for surat now.

So , there's something beyond that cheese gotala 🥲 if you explore, you'll come to know. Surat's food is literally to die for 🙂↔️🫣

Gujrati food is🔥🔥

I loved the artsy university vibe too! The audio guide bit is hilarious!

“the places closest to us slowly become invisible.” - totally agree to this.
None of the Gujarat Tourism ads have inspired me to visit the state but this piece did! 🙌👏
Comments like these! ❤️
Thank you Namrata :)
Mujhe ghoomne jaana hai😭
to nikal pado :D

Yes this is enough chubti jalti garmi ka mausam for me 😭
sad.
35 degree se darr gye? abhi to asli garmi aani bchi h.
and yes, that is not a good kachori. good ones are found in Rajasthan, UP, Dilli
I know I'm just repeating myself at this point but you travelogues are waaaaay too much soothing. Another banger of a read
thank you Mirnal! and never stop repeating. I love hearing back from my readers. :)

Hahahhaa. That is indeed how you describe it, the line makes you feel good and feel poor at the same time.
Although I do have a complaint.

I didn't like it one bit. It has nothing which a good kachori has. For me it is MEH at best.
😭😭👎🏼👎🏼❌❌

thank you for reading it Sanskriti :)
not sure where I am heading next, but I do have a few short trips that I want to write about. let's see how those pan out
Yayyy ...less go !!
Baroda is a lovely place, agreed. The poem was the highlight in this piece, really good!
thank you Rohan :)
Btw, if you liked Raja Ravi Varma's work, then check out False Allies by Manu Pillai. You'll enjoy the book.
will check this. thank you Rohan!
Vadodara is a place, once you stay for few months, you won’t like to leave, that’s why the people get settled here.
Vadodara is a cultural city of Gujarat.
I really liked the city too. thank you for reading :)
this was so beautiful, i loved it, brilliant work!!
thank you for reading and for the kind words Sakshi :)
